Blueberry Branch - ACEO Still Life Painting

Blueberry Branch
3.5 x 2.5 inches
acrylic on watercolor paper

One last one to add to the bunch for West Village Provisions. The blueberries have me thinking about Maine - and looking forward to our trip there later this summer....

Tomorrow will probably be spent doing some framing and prep work for the Creative Haverhill pop-up shop on Saturday. Once again, it will be at the Wingate Street Block Party in downtown Haverhill - Saturday, June 2nd, 12-4pm. I plan to have a bunch of my smaller paintings on display at what looks like a fun event!

Going Solo - Fruit Still Life Painting with Grapes SOLD

Going Solo
2.5 x 3.5 inches

Funny how all my paintings lately have been in little series. I think it is just how my brain works - I get one idea, then another, and another, and I just want to try them all! I don't seem to be able to paint fast enough or have enough hours in the day to keep up with the ideas in my head.....

This painting will be available at West Village Provisions, West Boxford, MA through the month of June.

Thanks for looking!

Potential - Floral Painting of Iris

Potential
10x8 inches
acrylic on canvas

Oh, the potential of a flower bud!
From that tight bashful little bundle emerges such resplendent beauty - the miracle amazes me every time.

This painting will be going to a call for art tomorrow (yikes!) with Flustered. I hope to have more details if the paintings are accepted.

I have been really enjoying doing these 10x8 floral "portraits" - I hope to do some more when I am between other projects. And irises....ALWAYS more irises......   ;-)

This is for a different show for another local gallery with a garden theme. I'll give you all more details if it gets accepted!  ;-)  I can't believe how fast and furious it seems all the events are coming up right now....hope to get some time to breathe sometime soon....

I delivered the two paintings yesterday for the Small Works Show at Gallery 55. A very, very cool space. I'm excited about the show - looks like it is going to be great!

U-Rent-It - Another Ipswich Sign Painting SOLD

U-Rent-It
5.5 x 6.625 inches
acrylic on board
SOLD

This sign had all kinds of peeling paint! I really liked the various angles on this when I cropped the composition really closely. This piece, and all the other signs of Ipswich, will go to MiXtMedia Gallery on Saturday. I have sketched out a few more paintings for this series, but I have run out of time. I probably will still do them some time this summer - and maybe add them to the show at a later date.

I'm keeping up the crazy schedule for at least a few more weeks. The reception for the Regional Juried Show at Newburyport Art Association is this Sunday - 3-5pm, so please check it out if you are local, it is a great show!

I hope to have some exciting news to share about a new gallery next month. And I'm also going to be participating in a Pop-Up Shop for Creative Haverhill on June 2nd. More details to come.....

Agawam - New Architectural Painting

Agawam
8 x 4.5 inches
acrylic on board

Another building in Ipswich, Massachusetts for the MiXtMedia show. I'm not sure why I find some of the simpler buildings more interesting. I think it was the sign that drew me to this one! I am working on another one from a different corner of the same building that I hope to post tomorrow.

This painting is of the iconic Clam Box in Ipswich, Massachusetts. I'm getting down to the wire getting ready for the Ipswich exhibit - hoping to finish a few more.....

I went to check out the Juried Regional Exhibit at the Newburyport Art Association this past weekend. It is a wonderful show - lots of amazing work. It was very exciting to see my work there in the gallery! The show runs through June 9th - be sure to check it out if you are in the area.

Hmmm- I'm seeing a few little things that I want to fix on this - but that will have to be tomorrow. One more for the Ipswich show - should have been done yesterday, but I need to get a little sleep some time, right?

Bottled Liquors 1 - Neon Sign Painting SOLD

Bottled Liquors 1
6x6 inches
acrylic on board
SOLD

Different sign....same town. Honestly, I think Ipswich only has two neon signs in the whole town. I'm thinking that some time soon I will have to do a series of just neon signs. I'm also thinking I would love to redo these paintings really LARGE. Right now I am working on a table easel (thanks, Dad!) in the corner of my kids' playroom, so 8x10 is about as large as I can handle. But maybe someday I will be able to get back to larger work.....

This piece will be on exhibit at MiXtMedia Gallery later this month.

Motel 3 - New Sign Painting SOLD

Motel 3
6.25 x 5 inches
acrylic on board
SOLD

Here is one more motel sign from Ipswich. Different angle, adding more of the surroundings. I like the lines and shapes that the power lines and pole created so I decided to include them in this one. This painting will be on exhibit later this month at MiXtMedia Gallery.

More signs to come.....

Good Morning Sunshine - New Floral Painting SOLD

Good Morning Sunshine
3.5 x 2.5 inches
acrylic on watercolor paper
SOLD

Yes, I am still working on the signs, but I needed one more little piece to add to my replacement paintings for May at West Village Provisions. The glowing yellow of the daffodils and the way the sun hit their cheerful faces made them irresistible to paint!

I had the honor this past weekend to play "Top Chef" judge to a troop of teenage Boy Scouts. They had a specific challenge to attempt - AND the meal had to be cooked over a campfire. It was very interesting - and entertaining! The food ranged from half-raw hamburgers to steak and asparagus with hollandaise sauce. Quite the experience.  ;-)

This painting will be on display at West Village Provisions through the month of May.
